5 Core Principles Support Responsible Innovation

  • Strategic Intelligence
    Naturally identifying and analyzing the potential profits and risks that the technology and company may provide, however, we are also Identifying potential future impacts, both positive and negative, that may result from innovation. Strategic intelligence comprises the analysis and knowledge of the prospects and implications of an emerging technology, its potential risks, risk benefit trade-offs and dilemmas.
  • Inclusivity
    Engaging a diverse range of stakeholders, including marginalized groups, to ensure all perspectives are considered in the innovation process.
  • Safety and Trust
    Responsible Innovation must build public and societal trust to be enduring. Ethics-by-design” or “sustainability-by-design” approaches to governance are examples. These approaches can aid the assessment and integration of sustainability or ethical considerations of new technologies at different innovation stages. The “Safe(r)-by-Design” concept, we encourage industry to reduce uncertainties and risks to human and environmental safety, covering the whole innovation value chain (or life cycle for product development).

    Being flexible and willing to adjust the direction of innovation in response to societal needs, concerns, and feedback.
